Playground Moments
My dear friends wanted a playful photo session with their son. When I visited them in late July, we had a heat wave to deal with, so I was thrilled that we were able to do a late evening session.
I seldom get to play with the light so much as I did during this session. Despite the occasional sunflare and backlit haze, I really enjoyed this session and stretched my creative juices.
This three year old was a delightful challenge. We were good buddies by the end of my visit, and this family taught me a few new tools for capturing the eyes of the young and distracted 🙂
The playground near their house was the perfect backdrop for the rest of our time together.
My friend has always wanted to get a family photo on the three person slide, and the charming school building added a nice architectural element that I usually don’t have available in the parks I typically photograph!
I’m not going to lie, this completely unposed moment is my favorite of our time together. I realized just after snapping this shot that we were in front of the tic tac toe board, and that they were almost all turned to hugs while her little one was giving mom a kiss.
There was so much love and expression in these photos! I always love getting to photograph friends, and this was such a special one. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend some quality time together!
